I throughly enjoyed this commission. I have always loved symbolism in painting. The river, shown here in this detail, symbolises acceptance. The hare symbolises bravery. The hare knows his only path is across the river.
I painted this semi-abstract illustrative oil painting for two months. I built layer upon layer of paint to create translucency, depth and light.
